Here is the final Jam Session report from John Geggie, bassist and band leader at our sessions.
"well, I thought it was going to be quiet tonight but alas not...
lotsa people wanting to play.
after our opening set with Nancy and Ethan, we invited up guitarist Ted Quinlan from Nancy's quartet to play 3 tunes...some nice ones - Sometime Ago, Old Folks and You and the Night and the Music...
after that Michael Herring came up on bass with Ted on guitar, Dan Ko on alto, Jenna Glatt vocals and Dave Wright on drums...Nancy of course on piano..
things turned around again with Don Scott coming up on guitar at some point...
I played bass with Nico Dan on drums and Harley Card on piano with Nancy...
we finished the night with a couple of tunes Alone Together and East of the Sun....a nice ending to a nice run of jam sessions.
people stayed to the bitter and were supportive.
thanks to all..Catherine, everyone at the OIJF, all the amazing staff at the ARC (Colin, Dean, Marc, Jason etc...all the bar staff), Judy Humenick and all the volunteers, all the musicians who sat in and shared music and finally my dear friends and colleagues who played in the trio with me...Nancy Walker, Nick Fraser and Ethan Ardelli
over and out...
j"
