On a kick of exploring the place where jazz meets the roots of bluegrass and the folk music of North America, I am thrown in the the dirrection of Bill Frisell and his friends. One of whom is an incredible violinist Jenny Scheinmann, who balances playing with Bill Frisell, Jason Moran,as well as artists like Lucinda Williams and Ani Difranco. If this was not enough, you can catch Jenny at her regular tuesday spot in Brooklyn's Barbes singing her original, heart-wrenching songs with an ever-changing cast of great musicians. Mrs. Scheinmann's latest project is a path of adventure called Mischief & Mayhem featuring guitarist Nels Cline, drummer Jim Black and bassist Todd Sickafoose.
