Kneebody - the next adventure

One of the groups I am really looking forward to seeing at the Ottawa Jazz Festival this summer is Kneebody, the California-formed, Brooklyn-based group. There is no shortage of virtuosity in this band, as individually the band members are quite busy on their own terms. What is really incredible about Kneebody however is that their influences include hip-hop, indie rock and of course modern jazz (amongst others) and they fuse all these elements with a very fresh and creative approach. They are famous for creating multi-night shows with themes, guests and quite a crossover crowd ends up as the audience.
Their album with Theo Bleckmann "12 Songs of Charles Ives" was nominated for a Grammy last year and they have only gained momentum ever since.
This group will blow you away and if you do not know about these guys, it will certainly offer you a look at a certain new direction jazz is headed. Kneebody is:
Adam Benjamin / Ben Wendel / Kaveh Rastegar / Nate Wood / Shane Endsley

Kneebody will be performing at the Ottawa Jazz Festival at:
