Zak has a beautiful flowing sound with cool jazz-like lines weaving through standards and originals. He gets to shine here as the house band at the Delta City Center.

This recent transplant to Ottawa is a Cuban native, with strong musical roots... he has been stirring up quite a storm and this will be a great chance to hear this amazing pianist.

This charismatic classical singer has outfitted her group with the Jam Session house band who will be warmed up by now and will no doubt sound great! This is Julie's adventure into the world of Jazz.

Today we venture on the outskirts of the world of jazz. We start with this group that combines the historical tradition of Cantorial music with potent folklore with a fun factor to boot.

Nellie McKay - vocals, piano

9pm @ Concerts Under The Stars - Main Stage Confederation Park

Chris Botti – trumpet
National Arts Centre Orchestra
He has recorded and performed with Frank Sinatra, Sting, Josh Groban, Michael Bublé, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, John Mayer, Andrea Bocelli, Joshua Bell and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. A great trumpet player who has focussed more on the smooth jazz stylings, will team up with NAC Orchestra.

10:30pm Club Series @ Mercury Lounge

Philippe Lafrenire – drums, percussion, vocals
Gabriel Bronfman – guitar, vocals
Philippe is a key member in both Souljazz Orchestra and Slim Moore and the Mar-Kays. This is a project with a great Mexican artist Gabriel Bronfman. The Mercury Lounge is such a great place to hear music and this group will be really groovy and fun!

A really fun band from Montreal who combine a lot of styles of music and language all around the base ofa Brazilian dance vibe... this is definitely a band to dance to!

This Brooklyn based group has been really gaining steam, combining the new movement of giant, orchestral if not epic indie rock movement with jazz.
